What is GATE?
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national-level exam conducted for admission into post-graduate programs such as M.Tech and Ph.D. in various engineering and science fields. It is also a qualifying exam for various public sector undertakings (PSUs) such as BHEL, ONGC, NTPC, etc.
GATE is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB)-GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India.
GATE Exam Pattern:
The GATE exam is conducted for 25 papers, and candidates can appear for only one paper. The exam is conducted in an online mode and consists of 65 questions, totaling to 100 marks. The duration of the exam is three hours.
